Being Assessed for Child Care Assistance
Small Friends is registered with Centrelink and eligible for the Child Care Benefit. Our ID number is CCMS_2_39VGHQ.
You may be eligible for the Child Care Benefit (CCB) and/or Child Care Rebate (CCR). It is your responsibility to contact Centrelink to find out if you are eligible for assistance, as we can not assist you with the actual assessment process.
CCB You may be eligible for the Child Care Benefit, which you can choose to receive as an annual lump sum payment or as reduced child care fees throughout the year. This is provided to families earning less than $152,147.
CCR Is NOT income tested and pays 50% of your child care fees. You may meet the work, training, study test for CCR if you and your partner participate in...
- paid work or self-employment
- setting up a business
- training or studying
- looking for work
- voluntary work to improve your work skills.
Please be aware that having a Customer Reference Number (CRN) for yourself and your child does not mean you are in the system for childcare assistance, you must notify Centrelink that your child is going to be enrolled in care, and that you wished to be assessed.
- Visit the Mandurah office in person at 24 Tuckey Street, Mandurah.
- Call in on 13 61 50
- Visit www.humanservices.gov.au and log in to your myGov account and start an online assessment.
Assessments can take between 28 - 35 days to be processed, and during that time you will be required to pay full fees. Once your assessment has been processed, and you are eligible, your payments will backdate to the date that Centrelink has approved.
Once assessed you will receive an assessment letter which will confirm two CRN's, one CRN for a parent and one for your child. We require both or these numbers to formalise your child’s enrolment.
Small Friends has no control over your payments, so we ask that you check your weekly statements, and if you see a change you need to contact Centrelink to make enquiries.
