Our Team
Our wonderful team is ready to welcome you and your Little One into our house, where the early years are made magical. We genuinely love what we do, and that joy shines through in everything we create at Small Friends.
Each team member is qualified, holding Certificates III or Diplomas in Early Childhood Education and Care or be actively working towards a qualification. Beyond our qualifications, it’s our years of experience and deep passion for nurturing and educating young children that truly make Small Friends a special place.
Kindness, care, and a nurturing spirit guide us as we support every child’s journey. We’re devoted to helping our Small Friends grow into confident, joyful Little People — ready not just for school, but for all of life’s adventures.
Being part of the Small Friends village isn’t just a job for us; it’s a heartfelt calling. Our enthusiasm and love for early childhood education fuel every moment, making sure your child feels safe, inspired, and truly valued.
Our Owner & Director
Hello, I’m Katelyn — the proud Owner and Director of Small Friends. I’m deeply rooted in this wonderful community where I live with my husband Darren, our two beautiful children, Madison and Hudson, and our loyal dog, Nala.
My journey into Early Years Education and Care started almost ten years ago, sparked by my own experiences as a parent and a heartfelt understanding of just how precious the first six years of a child’s life truly are. I’m passionate about nurturing little ones through high-quality early education, play-based learning, and the joyful wonder of nature play.
I first became part of the Small Friends family in 2021 as an Educator. From that very first day, I felt something truly special here — Small Friends isn’t just a childcare centre, it’s a warm and welcoming home where childhood is treasured, and learning blossoms through play, curiosity, and discovery.
Since 1996, Small Friends has been a safe haven where children are free to be themselves. I am honoured to carry on this beautiful legacy, and I hold deep gratitude for those who shaped this nurturing space before me.
Right now, I’m studying for my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education because I love learning about child development. One of the greatest joys in my day is watching children play — witnessing their creativity, resilience, and growth in the most natural, heartfelt ways.
I’m truly excited to meet you all and to continue nurturing the magic that makes Small Friends so special. Thank you for trusting us and being part of our vibrant village.
